HARVARD CRIMSON DANCE TEAM
About
Established in 1995, the Harvard Crimson Dance Team is Harvard’s premier competitive dance group. HCDT plays an active role in raising school spirit and representing Crimson pride throughout the school year. You can find the team dancing on the sidelines and performing during media timeouts at many athletic events, including Harvard Football and Harvard Men’s and Women’s Basketball games. Our dance styles include jazz, lyrical, pom, and hip hop.
HCDT competes at both a regional and national level every season. In the 2022-2023 season, the reigning regional champion team brought home their third consecutive first-place win in Division I Jazz at the UDA New England Dance Championship in Westfield, Massachusetts. The dance team also travels to the UDA College National Championship in Orlando, Florida.
The Harvard Crimson Dance Team also performs for and volunteer at many community events—-from helping at the Y2Y Homeless Shelter to teaching sidelines to local Girl Scouts troops. More than anything, HCDT values the personal and performative growth of their dancers within a close-knit community. They inspire, motivate, and support one another both on- and off-stage, to help every member reach their full potential. The team is a tight-knit family of passionate dancers who enjoy spending time together both in and out of practice.
